Alternative Energy

In keeping with the sustainability theme of Artosphere, some of the electrical needs for the Trail Mix and Botanical Gardens concerts will be powered from renewable sources. Two sites on the North Shore Trail as well as The Dan Zanes concert at BGO will employ solar power provided by Arkansas’ own Rocky Grove Sun Company- www.rockygrove.com

Volunteers from the community will also use a pedal power device called a “Biker Bar” to generate the electrical needs for the concert at the North Shore Pavilion beginning at 1PM.  Three bikes are hooked up to the device and enough power is generated to provide sound for up to 200 people.

Also powered by pedaling, a “Fender Blender” will produce banana almond smoothies for healthy snacks at BGO. For more information about innovative bike-powered energy, visit www.rockthebike.com.
