In his thirteenth season as Second Horn with the Arizona Opera Orchestra, Nathan Mitchell also performs regularly with the Phoenix Symphony, Tucson Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic and Santa Fe Symphony. Nathan is the founding hornist in the Sonoran Brass Quintet and has spent fifteen summers serving as Hornist and Faculty Brass Coordinator of the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria. A versatile artist, Nathan has performed with a host of Broadway productions, including the national touring companies of Wicked, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, The Producers, West Side Story and innumerable others. He also toured with Camelot, starring Lou Diamond Phillips. Mitchell’s concert appearances include engagements with icons Barry Manilow, Michael Crawford, The Moody Blues, Johnny Mathis, Clay Aiken, Mannheim Steamroller and Josh Groban.
